Committees

WANT TO GET MORE INVOLVED in npga?

Our committees are a great way of doing so! E-mail the committee chairs if you are interested in joining one of the committees

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – This committee’s purpose is to be a source of support for the student, postdoctoral, and researcher communities in the School of Neuroscience, and to provide access to a variety of resources through an information hub. They do so by actively promoting diversity and inclusion in both the School of Neuroscience and NPGA through our commitments to seek out educational and outreach opportunities, increase awareness, and facilitate conversations with students, researchers and other diverse individuals.

  • Events and Speaker Recruitment This committee works to organize different types of socials that NPGA hosts/co-hosts and its networks within the SoN and affiliated labs to help organize speakers for the SoN monthly seminar and the annual SoN symposium. This committee will also coordinate recruitment of outside speakers and their trainee-oriented visit time (lunches, meetings). They will assist SoN (or affiliated) sponsored events hosted by faculty through connecting appropriate trainees during their visit time. They will be in charge of the full schedule of speakers recruited by NPGA.

They work to learn more about the programs that are available at VT and notify Neuroscience trainees of seminars and workshops of interest. They also approach other VT groups or programs for creating collaborations.
